The Summit School dress code has been designed collectively by Summit faculty. Permitted Not Permitted Bottoms Bottoms Black pants, shorts or skorts/skirts are not part of the dress code Brown khaki or green khaki pants, shorts, skorts/skirts are not part of the dress code Baggy pants that fall below the waist Underwear showing above the waist of the pants Cargo pants are not permitted Zip-off pants Draw string pants Skirts shorter than 3” above the knee *Shorts, *skorts, and *Capri pants . All skirts, skorts, shorts and jumpers are to be worn at a length of 3” above the knee or longer. Cargo shorts are not permitted Cargo Capri pants are not permitted Short shorts or skorts are not permitted No logos other than Tops Tops Light green, neon green, Kelly green, or any color not listed in the “Acceptable” column. No logos other than Long or short sleeve oxford, button-down collared shirts – White, Hunter Green or Navy Un-tucked undershirts Turtleneck shirts – White, Hunter Green, Navy (long or short sleeve) Shoes Shoes Outerwear Outerwear PE Attire PE Attire P.E. days. Although students must wear sneakers on P.E.days, they do not have to change for P.E. if they are wearing their regular No clothing other than Dress Down Days: Dress Down Days are offered throughout the school year as class incentives or for fund-raising opportunities sponsored by Parent Voice, Student Government Association (SGA), or individual classes. On Dress Down Days, casual clothing appropriate for school is allowed; school uniforms are not required. Dress Down Day restrictions include: • shirts with objectionable emblems or writing • midriffs, off-the-shoulder, and spaghetti-strap tops • shorts shorter than 3” above the knees • cut-off jeans/shorts • torn clothing or clothing with holes Purchasing Clothing: Rose Uniforms of Pennsylvania: 1-800-527-4689 (www.roseuniforms.com) – golf shirts, oxford shirts, turtlenecks, pants, shorts, skirts, skorts, jumpers and Summit fleece jackets Lands End, Gap, Target, Sears, Talbot’s, Old Navy, Children’s Place, JC Penney’s, frenchtoast.com, Value City, Wal-Mart – golf shirts, oxford shirts, turtlenecks, pants, shorts, skirts, skorts, jumpers Summit School Parent Voice Organization: Summit School t-shirts, sweatshirts and sweatshirts and P.E. clothing is purchased exclusively through Summit. If students come to school out of dress code: • When a student’s attire does not coincide with the Summit dress code, they will be asked to check in with Mrs. Raley. • For the first couple of dress code infractions, the parent will be called by Mrs. Raley to advise them of the infraction, and the student can select a clothing item from our “gently used” dress code selection to wear for the day that must be washed and returned to school the next day or purchased at Summit’s resale price (the office keeps a price listing for used Summit wear). The student will bring home a copy of the dress code policy and a copy will be emailed to you. • When students have more than two dress code infractions, parents will be called by Mrs. Raley to bring appropriate attire to school. We know this is an inconvenience, and we apologize in advance, but we are soliciting parents’ help with our dress code. ***House colors: Mt. Olympus: Red Mt. Everest: Royal blue Mt. House t-shirts and Summit logo-wear may be ordered through the Parent Voice Organization to the attention of Lois Jenkins. Call the school any time for additional order forms. For your convenience, you may pre-order House t-shirts, even though your student’s House color may not yet be assigned. We will fill in the color after House assignments are made.
