REGISTRATION OPEN – The Summit School Symposium Series – The Summit on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

About: The Summit School Symposium Series, in collaboration with America and MOORE, LLC, is pleased to present The Summit on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion: Building a Community of Cultural and Racial Competence, a two-day virtual interactive conference, designed to take a look at race and gender in our current educational system and provide educators with context of the current state of Black boys in education in the United States and to offer new ways of seeing, hearing, and understanding those statistics.

Using The Guide for White Women Who Teach Black Boys co-authored by Eddie Moore, Jr., Ali Michael, and Marguerite W. Penick-Parks, as a framework for this symposium, attendees will gain a deeper understanding of how to teach diverse populations of students and to build relationships and connections with students who come from diverse backgrounds. Keynote sessions and breakout sessions on a new, interactive platform will allow for attendees to explore topics of their choosing, network with others, and learn in an innovative virtual environment

When: The virtual conference begins the evening of Friday, May 7, 2021 from 5:00 PM – 7:30 PM EDT and will continue Saturday, May 8, 2021 from 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM EDT.
