On Thursday, January 23, The Summit School held its annual Alumni basketball game. Summit alumni squeaked out a victory but not without a real challenge from Summit’s 8th grade Stallions.
This year two dozen alumni were back on campus. Our more newly minted alumni came from a host of high schools including DeMatha Catholic High School, The Gunston School, Lab School of Washington, Archbishop Spalding High School, Wye River Upper School, The Nora School, Indian Creek High School, Annapolis Area Christian School, The Calverton School, Bishop McNamara High School, St. Mary’s High School and Mount Saint Joseph High School.
For many alumni and their parents, this was the first time seeing the new athletic field and The Geaton and JoAnn DeCesaris Family Foundation STEM Lab/Makerspace. A multipurpose soccer/lacrosse field, with an enhanced traffic flow that no longer bisects the field, is nearly complete and the Makerspace, which boasts an integrated, hands-on location for students to experience a Science, Technology, Engineering and Math learning environment, were both big hits.
The Summit School was happy to welcome our alumni students back to campus. Catching up with old friends, a little competition, pizza – it was a fun afternoon for everyone.
